Main St. Northampton, MA

Three stage monotype of Main Street in Northampton, overlooking the courthouse on a brisk morning. Walking in downtown  one bright morning in January, I remember the air was dry and bitter. Main street was buzzing with cars and pedestrians on their way to work. I observed the people standing at the bus stop and sprinting across the street before the light changed—going here and coming from there; everyone had somewhere to be and something to do. I tried to capture the echoes of their movements and the paths they forged that cold morning.
